Dropping my husband off to his class while being late for my own resulted in high speed, jolted steering wheel efforts to find a parking spot fast. Feeling sick and in no mood to squeeze behind that explorer or that massive green truck ( all on steep uphills mind you), I relented and found myself in the grocery store, very happy to not be sitting in a math class.
Being cold and feeling all around foggy, soup ingredients found their way into my basket. Taking a cue from blogger orangette I set out to make Pappa al Pomodoro.
In which I must now explain a side story. Last Saturday, as I was out running errands, someone or something left one rather long sesame/poppy seed covered sourdough baggeute on my kitchen table. Later inquiries proved to be in vain of said sender. I find this very odd, the image of some bread fiend sneaking into my house and dissapearing just as quiet and unnoticed as he came.
But I won't fuss over a good thing. With more than day old bread waiting for me, and hydroponicly grown tomatoes along side of them. I thought, perhaps, this has a very good chance of cheering me up.
I have no pictures to prove to you the luciousness of this stew/soup. It even cured my husbands stomach ache. :)
