Time to get back to normal life

I've been on vacation for...oh...about a month. I know.

I have spent most of my time in Idaho with my parents. I have done a little knitting, kayaking, hiking but have mostly been mountain biking with my dad. We go for 2-3 hour rides whenever he gets home from work, jump in the hot tub to warm up and then go out to dinner. It's been so much fun! I could stay here forever...but I have to be responsible and work and save money and I just blacked out.

For one of those weeks I had to go down to SLC to stay with my Grandpa. It's a long story, but he's been in the ICU for almost 2 weeks and was just moved to a normal room yesterday. It was really difficult to watch him deteriorate so quickly and have little understanding of what happened and why. It made it even harder when the doctor's and nurse's didn't know how to fix it. I'm driving back down to SLC tonight to relieve my mom. She's been at his bedside 24 hours a day and sounds pretty tired and worn out. We've been sprucing up his house in the meantime though. We started all these projects like we were nesting for him to come home again.

Anyway, that's all for now. Oh! Except that I bought two bags of crack yesterday and am throwing the strips of goodness down the hatch as quickly as possible. I love you Costco, let's make out.

Cramming etc.

In the middle of finals at the moment. Out of the seven classes I took this semester (I am insane) I only have two left. I then have a week off until summer classes start. It never ends!!! I'm determined to graduate though, no matter what it takes.

I've been mtn. biking with my dad all this week. I am so addicted and am riding pretty well. All the trails in the South Hills are covered in cow crap though so by the end of the ride you are not only covered in dirt but a fresh coating of cow pie. Yum! On the last ride I couldn't get into the clipless peddles because the trail was covered in thick gravel so I fell over in slow motion into a fresh one. It was delightful.

It's so pretty up here at my parents house. I don't miss the desert. The lack of trees and life forms sprouting from the ground gets old after awhile.

Must force myself to study more now. More later.
