Jailer

My eyelids squeaked open this morning and as the world focused into view I saw the image of Runner's two beady eyes. His ear were up and he was happily chomping on a frog puppet I bought him for .50 cents at the thrift store. His tail clicked back and forth and a low growl vibrated from his throat like a subtle threat saying "Just try to grab the frog, go on, try it, no seriously..please."

Then I volunteered at the library because I'm an active and responsible citizen of my community. Also, I need to complete 12 hours so I don't fail my class.
First of all, the basement of the library is a pretty happening place. The grandma's running that joint are more lively and have more energy that I do after a gallon of diet coke. My supervisor gave me a run down of the library and the building's history, their current projects and explaining what I'd be doing for the next four hours. I clicked on some music and jammed while printing off new bar codes, removing old and distorted ones and stamping the library name on top of newly ordered books. Yes, it was slave work.

When my battery died I drummed along listening to the ladies conversation. They shared car maintenance tips (do not underestimate the benefits of tire rotation!), discussing the housing market, upcoming wedding (who will bring the chairs?), and a lengthy discussion about a certain restaurant they frequent for lunch. Apparently this place is a sorry excuse for a cafe...running out of lettuce and bread at 11:30 AM? Serving partly frozen ribs? Not providing wetnaps for said ribs? I know, it's very upsetting.

And, here is the song of the day. I hope you don't hate it and stuff.

Youtube Artists Featured

I love finding original music by artist's wanting to get their name out on Youtube. Recently featured was a french cameroon lady living in Paris, France. She plays acoustic guitar and piano. She does amazing covers (I often like her versions better than the original) and I really enjoy her original compositions. Check her out! Here is one of her original's called "End of the Story"

And my new favorite version of Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin
